CarComplaints.com Notes: Ford changed a lot of things for its 3rd generation, just none of them were a good idea.
The transmission tends to hesitate and jerk when accelerating. The new electronically-driven power steering can fail suddenly and without warning. Even Ford's SYNC can be a headache. Actually, scratch that last one — it's always been a headache.

I get I can just get an aux cord, which i've done, but i paid for the whole car so i'd like to use the whole car! my phone definitely connects, the music just wont play. i've tried different phones, and still nothing. my phone bluetooths to my mother's car no problem, so i've come to realize it is my car after all. apart from that, i love it. just wish it would play music through the bluetooth!!

This car does not sync with any phone so far, iphone or Android! After driving a Lexus and a Volvo, and even friends' Hyundais that had seamless connectivity, this was a bummer. Makes GPS navigation a pain. Took it to dealership, they had no clue how to address it, other than to blame it on Apple.

The same day for the non backing up, they said they had to update the software. This made sense due to the fact my Bluetooth had been acting up. Since the update, my music syncs properly.

I purchased the loaded 'Titanium' trim level due to the convenience features of the Bluetooth and the ability to stream Pandora radio from my smart phone to the car. Sounds ridiculous, I know but I was pretty excited about not having to replace the factory installed radio to get some extra features. After about two months of using the car I suddenly had problems with the unit pairing with my phone. At one point the entire 'entertainment system' froze and wouldn't update the time, change the radio station, or do ANYTHING.
After getting to work I thought the problem would resolve itself while the car was parked for the duration of my 12 hour work day. I returned and started the car to find the same frozen screen displayed. In order to reboot the computer I had to disconnect the battery terminal. Problem solved...or so I thought. Over the next several months I faced problems with the lack of Bluetooth connectivity at fairly regular intervals. It seemed that the system would cycle in one month intervals. My phone wouldn't pair and I was unable to use the hands free operation of the Bluetooth for about a week until suddenly one day it just paired (unless I did a hard reset and again disconnected the battery).
I repeatedly mentioned this to the dealer and they even replaced the on-board Sync computer. For a about a week after they replaced the system it was great again. It even read my incoming text messages through the system. This victory was short lived as after a few weeks it just stopped working. These problems occurred with an HTC EVO as well as the Samsung Galaxy 3. According to Ford, the Galaxy was supposed to be the most compatible phone with the SYNC system...uhhh no so much!
Sadly to say I traded the car in with almost $10,000 of negative equity...this was only one of the several problems I had with the car.
