Bmw Bluetooth Update Download

The website I downloaded the update from gave a summary of the updates in the download. ( it is the BMW site mentioned earlier) I downloaded it using Windows 7, 64bit, put the.bin file onto a FAT32 USB stick, inserted the stick and activated the 'update software' option. I couldn't get my phone to pair up via Bluetooth Audio, so I called the BMW Customer Service from the iDrive. A lady I spoke to said you can go into your profile on BMWUSA, under 'Bluetooth Connectivity' or something, and there should be an area for 'Downloads' where you can certain latest Software updates.
I went and checked and couldn't figure out what she was talking about. I called the number back and spoke to a guy who had no idea what I was referring to, and that from what he knew I had to go to a Dealer for any kind of update.
Anybody know what she was referring to?

Step 1:Click link:www.bmw.com/ to download iDrive update software.

(Note:You need to enter your “Vehicle Identification Number” to get permission )

Step 2:Check the lastest iDrive Software,and check “I accept the usage right agreement”.Then click “Download software”.Wait for finishing,and then copy it to your U disk.

Step 3:Plug U disk to USB port of your BMW,then power on iDrive.

Step 4:Enter iDrive Menu,select “Software update”

Select “Update software”

Select “Start update”

It reminds “For your safety,the update can only be installed when stationary.BMW services,Office and connected devices are briefly unavailable after update.”Seltct “OK”
